Captain Keto’s Adventure – Experiment #2

Description:

  • Replace existing fat with lean muscle mass

Hypothesis:

  • Getting into ketosis combined with a little more strength training will help me convert body fat into lean muscle mass

Variables:

  1. Food – got to eat right! 70% fat, 20% protein, max 10% carbs
  2. Exercise – Yo the strength training, burn glycogen
  3. Sleep

Measurements:

  1. Use my new bioelectric impedance scale for BMI, body fat, visceral fat measurements
  2. Body part circumference measurements (see experiment 1)
  3. Calories in, calories out, fitbit
  4. Sleep, fitbit

Comments:

  • A lot of the same measurements are being used in Experiment 1. Can’t believe my body age is 80. Must be the fat around my organs.

Baseline Measurements 12/18/15:

  1. BMI 29
  2. Body Fat 21.2
  3. Visceral Fat 12
  4. Resting metabolism 1981
  5. Skeletal muscle 37.2
  6. Body age 80
